TRAIN AND PLAY WITH PROFESSIONAL YOUTH PLAYERS FROM ONE OF
SOUTH AMERICA'S TOP PROFESSIONAL YOUTH SYSTEMS
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a professional
soccer player? Do you have what it takes to be one?
The Fútbol Factory's Danubio Summer Program will answer
those questions and more. By participating in this program you
will not only improve and sharpen your skills and maximize your
athletic fitness, you will also be instilled with a professional
attitude towards training and playing the game, the kind of professional
attitude that can get you a college scholarship or a national
team tryout.
The Fútbol Factory's Danubio Summer Program is an intensive
2-week training program that incorporates its participants directly
into the professional youth system of Uruguayan 1st Division champion
Danubio F.C. The Fútbol Factory players will be Danubio
youth team players for 2 weeks:
Fútbol Factory players will train at Danubio's official
practice facilities
Fútbol Factory players will do the same drills alongside
their Danubio teammates under the direction of Danubio youth team
coaches
Fútbol Factory players will wear the same training
kits as the Danubio youth
Fútbol Factory players will ride on Danubio team
buses and attend official matches as full (albeit non-playing)
members of the team.
Founded in 1932, Danubio F.C. is the widely acknowledged Fútbol
University of Uruguay and has developed one of the most successful
professional youth systems in the world. Danubio currently has
more alumni playing in Europe than any other team in Latin America.
Some members of this distinguished group include former Manchester
United and current Villarreal star Diego Forlán, longtime
Internazionale Milan star Alvaro Recoba, Atlético Madrid's
Marcelo Sosa, Juventus' Paolo Montero and Marcelo Zalayeta and
Monaco's Javier Chevanton. Danubio contributed 8 starters to the
Uruguayan U-17 team that recently qualified for the FIFA U-17
World Cup.
Danubio is a two- time winner and current champion of the Uruguayan
1st Division and has qualified for the Libertadores Cup four times.
Until recently, the club held the distinction of being the only
Uruguayan team never to lose a home game to a foreign club. For

The Fútbol Factory is a challenging and demanding program.
Players must be in game shape to participate.
Our students will train for a minimum of 3 ½ hours a day
in 2 very intense and physically demanding sessions. This is a
serious and rigorous training program and players must be prepared
to work very hard. Soccer is the primary focus of this program.
Social and cultural events are secondary and free time will be
limited. This program is not a tour or summer vacation. If you
are not prepared to train for 3 ½ hours a day and live,
eat and breathe soccer then this program is not for you.
The Fútbol Factory players will play a minimum of 2 full
dress games against the professional youth teams of top Uruguayan
1st Division clubs. These games will be played in officially sanctioned
stadiums with officially licensed Uruguayan Football Association
referees.
All our coaching staff, including all assistant coaches and trainers,
is certified by the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol
and all are currently working with Uruguayan professional teams.
Licensed and experienced coaches, many with important international
playing careers, will conduct all The Fútbol Factory training
sessions. The ratio of coaches to students will be approximately
5 to 1.
The Fútbol Factory's Danubio Summer Program is not a
summer camp. For 2 weeks our players will be members of the Danubio
professional youth system and train with and be treated just like
any other Danubio youth player.
The Fútbol Factory's Summer Program is a 2 week program
consisting of two a day training sessions from Monday to Friday,
a Saturday full dress match against a professional youth team
from one of Uruguay's 1st Division clubs and at least 1 informal
match a week against elite amateur teams.
Danubio Practices. Mornings are for Danubios' daily
practices from 9 am to 11 am. These practices will be held at
the Complejo
Ing. del Campo, Danubio's own private training complex, located
in the heart of Montevideo. The complex features 4 regulation
size grass fields and club house with modern weight and fitness
training equipment, locker room and shower facilities, restaurant,
meeting rooms and a full array of professional level amenities
and services. These facilities are for the exclusive use of Danubio
club members.
While we can not divulge details of Danubio's proprietary youth
training system, in general Danubio practices are designed on
individual weekly modules based on the style of play of that week's
opponent. Uruguayan professional youth teams normally play their
official matches on Saturdays. Accordingly, Mondays are Danubio's
hardest practices with decreasing intensity throughout the rest
of the week. Friday practices are normally a dress rehearsal for
the big game on Saturday. Practices are divided into 2 sections:
1) game day strategies and tactics; and 2) basic skill work and
strengthening and conditioning. At least one practice section
a week will be devoted to weight training and strengthening exercises.
The Fútbol Factory Practices. In the afternoon
from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, The Fútbol Factory Players will attend
individualized practices with Fútbol Factory coaches under
the supervision of Prof. Gustavo Dalto, Technical Director of
Danubio's professional youth system. In these sessions Coach Dalto
and The Fútbol Factory coaching staff will work to correct
weakness and deficiencies identified by Danubio coaches during
the morning sessions. Afternoon sessions will be conducted at
The Fútbol Factory's private training facilities, featuring
grass fields, lights for night play, locker rooms with showers
and other amenities.
On those weekdays when friendly matches with elite amateur teams
are not scheduled, the last part of the afternoon practices will
be devoted to small sided "pickup" games between The
Fútbol Factory players and the Friends of the Fútbol
Factory. The Friends of the Fútbol Factory are
current and former professional players that have agreed to attend
Fútbol Factory practices specifically to play with and
against our program participants. Former stars like Inter Milan's
Ruben Sosa or Walter Olivera, star of CA Peñarol's 1982
Intercontinental Cup winning team, or current Danubio stars Juan
Salgueiro and Ignacio González and other active players
will team up with our Fútbol Factory players and share
their knowledge and experience in a unique game setting.
Every Fútbol Factory player receives:
Official Danubio kit
Fútbol Factory kit

than not participants will be in shorts and short sleeve shirts.
Montevideo is on the coastline however, and every so often there
is wind and rain and the temperature drops to cooler levels that
may require a spring jacket or similar outerwear.
